Summary Punk before punk existed, three teenage brothers formed a band in the early 1970s in their spare bedroom. Equal parts rockumentary and family love story, this film chronicles the journey of what happened almost three decades later, when a dusty 1974 demo tape made its way out of the attic and found an audience several generations younger. Death is now being credited as the first black punk band, and are finally receiving their long overdue recognition as true rock pioneers.
Notes Program notes by Zack Carlson ([20] p. : ports.) inserted in container.
Special features: Audio commentary with directors Mark Covino and Jeff Howlett; audio commentary with the Hackney family; Q&A live at the Vermont International Film Festival; deleted scenes; "Let the world turn" music video; trailers.
